Faculty of Commerce, Human Sciences and Education

The Faculty of Commerce, Human Sciences and Education (FCHSE) contributes to scholarship through applied research and instructional development. It provides students with the background necessary to pursue advanced studies in Linguistics, Criminal Justice, Policing, Communication, Education, National and Foreign Languages, TVET, Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Procurement, Logistics & Transport, Sport Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Business Information Administration, Governance and Public Administration and related fields.

The Faculty prides itself with diversity, collegiality, cohesion and inclusion. The educational experience in the undergraduate and graduate levels is designed to provide students with the intellectual flexibility to be successful in a dynamic business environment. In addition, to provide support to employer community through the development of marketable skills in potential employees, the Faculty enhances the competitive capabilities of local businesses by providing continuing education courses, certification and consulting services through the Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HPGSB) and its Centre for Enterprise Development (CED), the Namibian-German Centre for Logistics (NGCL), the Namibia Graduate School of Accounting (NGSA) and the individual efforts of faculty.

New Programme on offer
Certificate in Procurement Management

NUST herewith invites prospective applicants to apply for the Certificate in Procurement Management (NQF Level 4), which is offered as a 6 month programme.

This programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and ability to understand the fundamentals and principles of procurement management in the public and private sector. It aims at equipping students with the full range of knowledge, skills and abilities required for engaging in all aspects of the procurement processes. It is intended for starter and upskilling those individuals who are employed in roles that are predominately operational. It further aids persons aspiring to become procurement professionals and those who engage in the supply of goods and services using the procurement function in various industries.

Master of Hospitality and Tourism Innovation Management

Duration: Two (2) years.

The Master of Hospitality and Tourism Innovation Management is a coursework and research postgraduate programme designed to enable students to critically examine the characteristics and frameworks of the tourism and hospitality business and evaluate the scope for innovation management within them. Students will be able to apply concepts, theories, and methods of management required to effectively analyse and craft tourism and hospitality management strategies that can give an organisation a competitive advantage in the highly competitive tourism industry. The Master of Hospitality and Tourism Innovation Management programme will, therefore, equip students with innovative techniques and strategic thinking in tourism and hospitality, eTourism and digital marketing, tourism policy, planning, and development among other areas. Additionally, this programme will further equip students with advanced knowledge required to conduct applied research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
