Biography
I am a Namibian economist, policy specialist, and an academic with over 20 years of diverse professional experience spanning from experience gained in public service, research, and higher education. I am currently a Lecturer in Economics at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), where I contribute through teaching, research, community engagement, and academic governance.
My current academic endeavour is my research studies for the Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies. In addition, I hold a Master of Arts in International and Development Economics, a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, Bachelor of Technology degree in Economics, a National Diploma in Commerce and multiple specialised certifications in monitoring and evaluation, policy development, and entrepreneurship.
My career trajectory includes several high-level roles in government, including Chief Policy Analyst at the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and Policy Analyst in the Cabinet Secretariat under the Office of the President/Prime Minister. The central focus areas are in policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, coordination, and leadership across key national institutions.
With a strong foundation in economics, stakeholder coordination, Programme Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, I am dedicated to contributing to Namibia’s socio-economic progress, shaping evidence-based policies, and building capacity through education and community-focused initiatives. My research interests are in rural finance for financial inclusion and development, green economy and sustainable development, rural development and rural entrepreneurship development. I am an entrepreneur who is currently involved in micro franchising/ direct selling, with further interests in organic farming, Agro processing and food distribution, eco friendly business solutions for micro entrepreneurs, among others.
