The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), in collaboration with national and regional partners, invites the submission of original research papers, conceptual contributions, case studies, and practitioner insights for the NUST Entrepreneurship Week and Conference (NEWC) to be held in September 2025 in Windhoek, Namibia.
As Namibia and the wider African region navigate the complexities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, this conference seeks to provide an inclusive and future-focused platform for scholars, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and development actors to share critical knowledge, debate transformative ideas, and forge partnerships that strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation-led development.
This event offers a strategic platform for researchers, policy actors, entrepreneurs, and postgraduate students to present innovative ideas, share new research, and influence future entrepreneurship in Africa. With the Fourth Industrial Revolution redefining the enterprise landscape, NEWC 2025 focuses on shaping inclusive, tech-driven, and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems in Namibia and beyond.
Authors are invited to submit papers under the following core themes:
1. Entrepreneurship Education
- Curriculum innovation and experiential learning
- Entrepreneurial teaching models and pedagogy
- University–industry collaboration
- Assessment of entrepreneurial competencies
- Digital tools in entrepreneurship training
2. Digital Entrepreneurship
- Platform-based business models and gig work
- AI and automation in startups
- Fintech, blockchain, and mobile money
- E-commerce and digital marketing innovations
- Barriers to digital transformation in Africa
3. Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development
- National policies, SME support, and regulatory frameworks
- Startup financing, venture capital, and investor readiness
- Incubators, accelerators, and community-based models
- Informal enterprise development
- Social, green, and inclusive entrepreneurship
All submissions must:
Be written in UK English
Follow the APA 7th Edition referencing style
Be original and not under consideration elsewhere
Be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
Each abstract will undergo a double-blind peer review by qualified academics and practitioners.
Publication Opportunities
After the conference, participants have the opportunity to submit their paper for publication as a special issue in a NUST Journal (Namibian Journal of Logistics and Operations Management -NJLOM) following a peer review process. No submission or publication fee is required.
FORMAT & PARTICIPATION
The Conference will be held at NUST’s Windhoek Main Campus and include in-person and virtual (hybrid) sessions. It will feature high-profile keynote speakers from academia, government, and industry, both international and local, who will address the core themes through plenaries, panel discussions, and thematic parallel sessions.
