Biography:
Ms Ester Jesaya is a specialist in transport and supply chain management, with over ten years of experience and demonstrated expertise in Business Management, Transport, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management. She is a results-oriented and dynamic professional who consistently delivers high-quality outcomes. She aims to apply her skills in logistics, transport, and supply chain management to recommend practical, evidence-based solutions that add value to industry practice and positively impact communities.
Research Focus:
Her research focuses on transport operations management, transport safety and infrastructure management, supply chain network and transportation design, and supply chain resilience.
Currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Johannesburg, RSA, Ms Jesaya's doctoral research specialises in supply chain network design, with a focus on the Namibia’s FMCG sector to create a supply chain resilience model that can mitigate supply chain disruptions within the sector.
Teaching:
As a lecturer, Ms Jesaya's responsibilities encompass teaching and assessments, research, community engagement, and programme development. Her teaching portfolio includes Procurement and Supply Chain Risk Management, Advanced Logistics Management, Global Supply Chain Management, Principles of Transport Economics, Transport Operations and Costings, Transport Safety Practice & Infrastructure Management, Applied Road Safety and Infrastructure Management, Practical Transport Operations Management, and Forwarding and Shipping Management. She was instrumental in developing and revising the Bachelor of Transport Management, Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement Management, Bachelor of Logistics Management Honours programmes in Marketing, Logistics and Sport Management Department at NUST to align it with stakeholders' needs and sustainable development goals.
Community Development Activities:
Accreditation of Programmes with NQA: Over the past six years, I have been actively involved in several accreditation assignments as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), demonstrating a high degree of responsibility and expertise in evaluating vocational and higher education programmes within the area of Logistics Management, Transport Management and Supply Chain Management.
