The Bloomberg Finance Lab at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) is a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing financial education and market intelligence in Namibia. Officially launched on March 18, 2025, the lab is the first of its kind in Africa and is the result of a strategic partnership between NUST, Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC), and the Namibia Investment and Finance Academy (NIFA), with support from RMB Namibia.
Impact and Vision
The Bloomberg Finance Lab is envisioned to be a cornerstone for empowering youth, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the next generation of investment leaders in Namibia. By providing access to advanced financial tools and certifications, the lab aims to enhance the ability of individuals to access funding, manage risk, and build sustainable enterprises that drive economic transformation.

Equipped with 12 Bloomberg Terminals, the lab offers users with real-time access to global financial markets, enabling hands-on experience with data analytics, investment decision-making, and risk management.

The lab serves as a bridge between academic theory and real-world financial applications, ensuring that graduates are equipped with industry-relevant skills.

This initiative is a result of a strategic public-private partnership, showcasing the power of collaboration between academia, financial institutions, and technology providers.

Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals (BFF):
A self-paced e-learning course introducing fundamental concepts in finance and investment.

Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC):
A foundational course covering economics, currencies, fixed income, and equity markets.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Certification:
Focuses on the integration of ESG criteria in investment decision-making and corporate governance.
