Biography
I am a lecturer of English with a strong academic background in Linguistics, specialising in Pragmatics. I hold a Ph.D. in English Studies, a Master’s in English Language and Linguistics, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Second Language Studies, building on earlier foundational training in English and English Honours. My academic journey, shaped across various institutions and countries, has deepened my understanding of language as a dynamic tool for communication, identity, and social interaction. My research interests include pragmatics and meaning-making, intercultural communication, argumentation and discourse strategies, second language acquisition, English language pedagogy, and digital communication. I am particularly interested in how language constructs identity, power, and relationships in both traditional and digital contexts. I am able to teach a wide range of linguistic courses, including syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, phonology, applied linguistics, and research methods. As an educator and researcher, I am committed to fostering critical thinking, empowering students through language awareness, and contributing to meaningful scholarship in the field of Linguistics.
